Bob Cole's career as an Entrepreneur and Motivator started in the Boy Scouts as a Scout Executive and helped to shape his view of the business world. He has been challenged and rewarded as an owner of several businesses. He understands business and has helped to generate sales for other companies as a primary segment of his personal success. His philosophy of business is based on on-on one relationships and as a hands on owner.
In 1967, he formed his own corporation, American
Recreational Activities, Inc. and obtained an ICC brokers permit to be able to
charter bus companies with pick ups in Connecticut and I ran youth camping tours
for both boys and girls. He also formed the first show he ever produced, beyond
his Boy Scout activities, The New England Sports and Camping Show at the old
Hartford Armory, on Washington’s Birthday weekend 1968. That show was an
absolute bonanza, with fifty four thousand people attending the first ever
event. When that event ended, Bob's telephone in his very small, two-person
office, in West Hartford never stopped ringing and it never has since.
